Ius Talionis—Short Film

To boost my portfolio, I wrote an idea for a lingerie commercial in 2017. Over time, this idea turned into a script for a short film. Unfortunately, there was no funding to make the film, so the idea ended up on the shelf.

Fast-forward one year—via a detour, I found a production company in Germany, Neuland Films, who believed in this idea, and together, we brought this beauty to life.

You can read the full story here, including the possibility of downloading the original treatments, script, storyboard, and shot list used for this project!

{Exodus 21:22–25}

The codex of Hammurabi, king of Babylonia (1792-1750 BC), is one of the oldest law books found so far. The laws of Hammurabi are nowadays called an example of harsh punishment. This is called the so-called Talio principle:

“Eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth” or IUS TALIONIS - “retaliation”
