Genesis Fashion Film

In 2015 I met boutique fashion designer Mirte van Wijngaarden. I liked her cave-men-inspired fashion, so after some meetings, we came up with the idea of creating a brand commercial that represented her fashion identity & philosophy.

When I was wrapping up the ‘I Am Hardwell’ documentary in Amsterdam in September 2015, I spent a lot of time in hotel rooms, so there was plenty of time to think about my next moves (and stress for the premiere, of course).

So one night, I couldn’t sleep and come up with the tagline: ‘God created mankind, now let me make you a man.’

This tagline formed the base for the idea of god being a woman, and while hovering above the waters of the world, she would create the universe around her in a very abstract version of the bible’s genesis.
